  When we first moved here four years ago Penny Pinchers staff consisted of Karen( the owner) and my self.  Once we found our new location we began to make a plan to move.  At the old store we had a huge liquidation auction and moved only our tools of the trade and the stores displays, which was still about eight trailer loads of stuff!

Between moving everything to the new location, cleaning up the overgrown landscape, and cleaning up the old store it took us less then a week to move.  Now to plan for our grand opening.

   Once we move all the displays and tools in, Karen and I sadly realized we would need a lot of inventory to fill up the 8,000 square feet we called the new store.  So Karen began buying and hasn't stopped yet!  Today we have absolutely no trouble filling the store, warehouse, and outside up with treasures.  Penny pinchers is always bursting at the seams as we add new inventory daily.

Penny Pinchers now employs six full time employees as well as part time helpers when needed.  Every few months we add new types of advertisement and selling outlets to the business as ways to expand.  This year alone Penny Pinchers launched it's own website, pennyestates.com, as well as using facebook and instagram to reach out to our customers keeping them updated with our weekly sales and new items.

  So happy anniversary Penny Pinchers!  I am excited to watch this business continue to thrive and expand.  Thank you to all our customers who make this all possible and thank you to our hardworking, dedicated staff who all work together to make this shop rock!  Go team, Go!  Here's to another year!

   Over the past few years we have built an amazing customer base, with our everyday regulars to the new walk-ins.  Some of our customers come in almost daily, some have a specific day, many bring friends or family to share the experience of this store with.  I love chatting with the people who keep Penny Pinchers moving forward as well as meeting the new customers and how they came to find us.

Our military section is full of vtg military surplus items and we have a case full of NOS zippo lighters.  The front display case is packed with knives of every make.

In the back of the store there is a selection of nautical type décor as well as a assortment of fishing gear,  plus we sell golf clubs and other sporting type items.

  The kitchen area has every kitchen gadget, we have both a modern and vintage kitchen selection.  The pegboard wall is packed full of can openers, cooking utensils, strainers, hot mitts, kettles, and more.  We always have a cast iron selection, small kitchen appliances, pot, and pans.  The glassware shelves offer a variety of glasses, mugs, and stemware.  In the vintage kitchen area vintage Pyrex can always be found as well as all types of vintage and antique kitchen items.

    Our DVD and CD selection is always vast and new arrivals added often.  There also is a selection of DVD players and other misc. electronics.   The book area always is stuffed full of all genres of reading material, most books are only $1.00.

Close to the books is the Linen, sewing, and office supply area.  The linen area has vintage table cloths, dollies, sheet sets, throw pillows, just to name a few.  The office area is full of all types of office materials and the sewing area features fabric sold by the pound, vtg buttons, etc.  

    Not only do we sell vintage and antique furniture, everything found in a household can be found at Penny Pinchers.

    Broken furniture  that comes in is fixed or reclaimed to become a useful item again.  Dressers with sagging or sticky drawers are fixed, missing knobs are replaced, some are painted to give the piece a new look.  We do the same with chairs, tables, any type of furniture that looks like it has life left.

  Our outdated or broken electronics are donated to a program that helps special needs childern.  The electronics are used to help childern learn problem solving skills as they tear down unwanted electronics.  Then the parts are taken to be recycled.  

 At the Penny Pinchers Store location we recycle metal, electronic wires, glass, plastic, clothing, and textiles.  When we have items that are unable to be sold in the store like usable household items, we find people in the community who may have a use for them.  

      Here at Penny Pinchers we pride our selves in not only providing spectacular items for sale,  as well as making sure not to just dump off what we don't want for someone else to deal with.   Finding uses for unwanted items is so important in this day and age with so much STUFF in the world.  If you are interested in reducing your trash, contact your local disposal company in your area and ask about recycling programs offered in your town or city.   Want to give life or purpose to an old piece of furniture in your home, simply look on Pinterest for thousands of inspiring DIY project ideas.
